Training sessions are available to 2011 High Performance Listed Riders and to 2011 Developing Riders by invitation. Training days generally run from 8:30am and 4pm.  Rider specific lessons times are available 24 hours in advance. Schedule of lessons and locations are subject to change without notice.  Training Sessions with Katie Prudent have not been confirmed.

Driving: Chester Weber (USA) Donates Two Days of Training for Fundraiser

Combined driver Chester Weber, the eight-time USEF National Four-In-Hand Combined Driving champion, will donate a package for two days of training during the silent auction at the upcoming "Salute to Driving" USET Fundraiser for driving. Weber will give the winner of the silent auction two days of instruction with either his or her own horses or Weber's.

Weber is a Kentucky Equine Research (KER) sponsored equestrian.

The "Salute to Driving" fundraiser is a weekend for all levels to learn and have fun. The event includes two days of Advanced/FEI-level and ADS lower-level clinics, a benefit party, combined test, and other activities to help educate equine enthusiasts from other disciplines.. 

"Salute to Driving" will be held on Chateau Log Farm and Courage to Lead Farm in Windsor, South Carolina, and the Country Dinner Benefit will be held at Trout Walk Farm in Aiken, South Carolina. The event will take place February 19 - 21, 2011. Read more

Gladstone, NJ - January 13, 2011 - The United States Equestrian Team Foundation is pleased to announce that the recipient of the 2011 Lionel Guerrand-Hermes Trophy will be talented eventing rider Tiana Coudray. Each year this award is presented to a Young Rider in one of the Olympic disciplines who exemplifies both sportsmanship and horsemanship. In 2011 Coudray had a banner year, winning the Jersey Fresh CCI*** and the Galway Downs International Horse Trials CIC***, as well as leading the U.S. efforts at the Boekelo CCI*** in Holland.

Wellington, FL - January 13, 2010 - The 2011 FTI Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF) held its second day of competition today with the first of 12 weekly WEF Challenge Cup grand prix classes. Canada's Yann Candele and Redefin, owned by Susan Grange, were the fastest double clear combination to earn the top prize. Held at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center in Wellington, FL, the 2011 WEF will hold 12 consecutive weeks of competition for its winter show circuit, running through April 3, 2011.

Gladstone, NJ - January 10, 2011 - The United States Equestrian Team Foundation is pleased to announce that Combined Drivers Tucker S. Johnson of Hobe Sound, Florida, is the recipient of the 2011 Whitney Stone Cup. The award is presented annually to an active competitor who displays consistent excellence in international competition and high standards of sportsmanlike conduct while serving as an ambassador for the United States and equestrian sport. Johnson is a tremendously accomplished driver who helped lead the United States to a Team Silver Medal as well as receiving an Individual Bronze Medal during the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games.

 This is the second year that Johnson has received the Whitney Stone Cup, after being awarded the prestigious honor in 2001. Johnson now plans to retire from the competitive sport as he spent 2010 achieving many milestones. Along with other achievements, Johnson guided his Four-In-Hand team to a second place finish at the Land Rover International Driving Grand Prix at the Royal Windsor Horse Show in May.

Eventing: 2010 Badminton Wins 2011 Event of the Year Award

 The Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials has been chosen for the prestigious Event of the Year Award 2010 - Eventing, by the International Equestrian Yearbook, "L'Annee Hippique".  This accolade is voted for by riders and other participants and is in recognition not just for the competetive stature and organisation of the Event, but also for visitor satisfaction and infrastructure.  Badminton Director Hugh Thomas said, "It is a great honour to be recognised by our peers and it will certainly give great encouragement to the hundreds of volunteers who really make the event work.  We will try and win again in 2011!".

International three-day event riders Phillip Dutton and Robert Costello announced today their intention of applying as a team for the position of USEF Eventing Technical Advisor and Chef d’Equipe. Dutton would assume the technical advisor role, and Costello would become Chef d’Equipe. Current Chef d’Equipe for the U.S. team, Capt. Mark Phillips will be retiring from his post at the end of 2012.

Koos de Ronde did it again. The Dutch golden team member of Kentucky has won the FEI World Cup™ Driving competition in Mechelen for the third time in a row. De Ronde beat Hungary’s Jozsef Dobrovitz with an exciting fast and clear round to put the pressure on last-to-go and wild card driver Boyd Exell. But the World Champion from Australia was unable to stay clear and left the arena with 15 penalty points. When the scores were finally tallied, De Ronde was declared the deserved winner.

Lexington, KY - The United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) is pleased to announce Kelsey Kimbler as the 2010 Junior Equestrian of the Year. This highest of honor offered to a junior equestrian comes on the heels of another big honor Kelsey earned earlier this month - the 2010 USEF Youth Sportsman's Award, sponsored by Breyer Animal Creations. This puts Kelsey in elite company, as one of only a handful of junior equestrians to accomplish both feats in the same year.

The United States Dressage Federation (USDF) would like to congratulate the twelve-year-old, 16.3 hand, Dutch Warmblood gelding, Ravel, owned by Akiko Yamazaki of Woodside, California, and ridden by Steffen Peters of San Diego, California, for being named 2010 Adequan/USDF Grand Prix Horse of the Year.  Ravel's median score of 78.542 percent made him the top horse in the United States competing at this level and the recipient of USDF's highest honor for the second year in a row.

FEI: HRH Princess Haya becomes patron of FEGENTRI

FEI President HRH Princess Haya recently became patron of the organisation FEGENTRI (International Federation of Gentlemen and Lady Riders). FEGENTRI was founded in 1955 by France, Germany, Italy, Sweden and Switzerland to promote international horse races for amateur riders. It now counts 24 member countries and organises two world championships – one for men, another for women – comprising some 60 races worldwide. Amateur riders competing in FEGENTRI world championship races come from varied backgrounds and all have full-time professions. Each FEGENTRI country member has its own active association, which is responsible for promoting and coordinating races and safeguarding the interests of its amateur riders at home and abroad.

Under the North American League World Cup rules, riders are required to have two starts in a CDI-W to qualify for the Reem Acra FEI World Cup Dressage Finals. The top two percentages from the FEI Grand Prix Freestyle will be averaged to calculate the rider's final score. The two highest ranked horse/rider combinations from the North American League will be invited to attend the Reem Acra FEI World Cup Dressage Finals, April 27-May 1, 2011 in Leipzig, Germany.
