Ohio native Shawn Falrida (USA) and RC Fancy Step top Team reining, taking  the first place finish in the 2010 World Equestrian Games Team Reining Competition.  Flarida's score of 227.00 puts Team USA over the top for a successful World Championship Defense.

WEG Endurance: UAE Leads Endurance

When Endurance horses arrived at Gate 1 this morning the team from the United Arab Emirates posted a combined time of 04:34.53  to take the lead. His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed Al Maktoum (SAS Alexis), His Excellency Sheikh Majid Mohammed Al Maktoum (Kango D'Aurabelle) and Sheikh Rashid Dalmook Al Maktoum (Rukban Dikruhu Mmn) were leading the team rankings ahead of the USA in second and Bahrain in third.

Cooler weather overnight makes it easier going for the hard working Endurance horses. With a long way to go, final results are expected around 7p.m. EDT.  Medals will be presented tomorrow along with the Best Condition Award, going to the horse exhibiting the best physical condition following the grueling Endurance challenge.

WEG Reining: Anky Van Grunsven Reins

World-renowned Dutch Dressage competitor Anky Van Grunsven stole a bit of the show during the first day of Reining competition when she rode her palomino reining horse Whizashingwallas into 14th place.

WEG Reining Results: Italy Leads Reining after Day 1

Lexington, Ky., Sept. 25, 2010 — With roughly half of the rides completed in the team Reining competition of the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games, Team Italy is on top in the Reining World Championships, presented by John Deere.

LEXINGTON, KY—After years of anticipation, the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games have finally kicked off in Lexington, Ky.

Saturday’s competition events include Reining Team Competition Part 1 at 9 a.m. EDT and Reining Team Competition Part 2 at 2 p.m. EDT in the Alltech Indoor Arena. These Reining World Championships, presented by John Deere, will see 14 countries competing in team events and seven countries competing in individual events. FEI TV schedule for Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games™

As the action gets underway at the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games™ today in the build-up to tonight’s opening ceremony, equestrian fans who are not on site can view all the excitement of the Games live on FEI TV. This is a fee-based service available to subscribers.

FEI TV offers users worldwide access to extensive live coverage from the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games™. The opening ceremony will be shown live tonight at 1900 EDT (0100 CEST) and will then be available as Video on Demand (VoD).

As well as live competition coverage throughout the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games™, FEI TV will make all competitions available post-event via VoD, plus an exclusive daily 30-minute VoD highlights show from the Kentucky Horse Park featuring the best of the day’s action, interviews, previews and reviews. There will also be lots of behind the scenes footage available.
