Arcadia, CA, March 24 -- HRTV's (R) scope of its equestrian line-up will reach into the international realm as the result of an agreement with Horse & Country Television -- which will provide viewers with outstanding weekly programming from the United Kingdom and Ireland.
An exclusive weekly two-hour block of Horse & Country offerings, tabbed "Horse & Country on HRTV, the Best From Across the Pond," will air on Saturday nights at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT, beginning this Saturday, March 26. The weekly programming will re-air on Sunday mornings, Monday nights in prime time, and on Tuesday afternoons.
The wide-range of programming will consist of "horse sports" coverage from the United Kingdom and Europe, as well as documentaries about horses and the extraordinary people that work with them, including master classes with top British equestrian talent. Additionally, weekly coverage will encompass Badminton, Irish Showjumping, "up close and personal time" with Dressage champion, and trainer, Carl Hester, and a look at one of the newest and fastest-growing equine sports, Horseball.
This Saturday's premiere "Horse & Country on HRTV, the Best >From Across the Pond" block will include "Showjumping Ireland," featuring the 2010 Grand Prix, with the winner receiving 12,000 Euros. The second hour highlights Horse Patrol, the International League for the Protection of Horses, as they valiantly rescue ponies and horses.
"We are continually seeking to upgrade and enhance our offering of equestrian programming," said Jim Bates, HRTV’s Executive Vice President and General Manager. "This agreement with Horse & Country TV certainly accomplishes that and gives our viewers a wide-variety of high-quality equestrian programming from the United Kingdom and Ireland. We’re delighted with this arrangement."
Heather Killen, Chairman of H&C TV, said: “H&C plans to become the premier lifestyle brand in equestrian media around the world, and establishing a position in US market is an important step in this strategy. We’re delighted to be working with HRTV and contributing to the development of their sports and lifestyle offering, and introducing H&C to a whole new community of brands and advertisers.”
