Dressage: USEF Runs High Performance Observation Session in Florida

The United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) ran a High Performance dressage observation session at Mary Anne and Walter McPhail's High Meadow Farm in Loxahatchee, FL over the weekend of January 8-9.  Eleven horse/rider combinations participated in the observation session with U.S. Dressage Technical Advisor, Anne Gribbons. Arlene 'Tuny' Page rode two horses and found the insight from Gribbons invaluable.

"It was a nice opportunity for Anne to become familiar with my horses," said Page. "She has an excellent eye... which is just the feedback that I needed before our first qualifier of the season.  Her suggestions for technique and exercises were helpful and improved both of my horses."

Many of these horse/rider combinations are preparing for the upcoming Florida CDI-Ws which will run at the Gold Coast Opener (January 20-23), the Wellington Classic Spring Challenge (February 11-13) and the Palm Beach Dressage Derby (March 3-6).

The following horse/rider combinations participated in the observation session with Gribbons:

Lynda Alicki/Donates and Ikaros
Sue Jaccoma/Wadamur
Jen Marchand/Roby W II
Arlene Page/Alina and Ice Cup
Cesar Parra/Grandioso
Sharon McCusker/Juli Sherif
Lauren Sprieser/Ellegra
Katherine Batesone-Chandler/Dea II
Heather Blitz/Paragon

  1. I love the fact that the horse doesn't look like he/she is in pain because of the bit, the horses' eyes are really beautiful, which makes the whole photograph look soft. The black and white effect really goes well with everything. Love it
