Eventing: USEF: Ashley Kehoe Awarded Essex Grant

Gladstone, NJ - The Board of the Essex Trust is proud to announce Ashley Kehoe of Purcellville, VA as the recipient of the Essex Grant; an award in the amount of $5,000.  The Essex Trust is a charitable (501c3) fund initiated by the Trustees of the Essex Horse Trials to further the sport of Eventing both through grants to improve the horsemanship of young riders, and to the organizations which lend support and volunteers to Three Day Event competitions.  The Essex Horse Trials was one of the most prestigious Three Day Events held at the USET's Hamilton Farm in Gladstone, NJ.

There were 36 applicants from fifteen different states, ages ranging from 18-25 years old applying for the grant.

Kehoe, 23, was recognized for her work ethic and demonstrated discipline for her riding.  Kehoe has an entrepreneurial spirit, and recently developed her own hoof packing material called Rebound Hoof Pack which several top riders have in their tack boxes.  She has taken her partnership with her advanced horse, Mazetto, to new heights in 2010, and The Board hopes that the grant will enable her to receive additional training opportunities.
